I started my career at a corporate communication agency and gravitated to video production – specifically as a producer. I thrived on it. Producing allowed me to flex creative muscle and create content that could connect with people.

 

As I evolved in my career, my professional curiosity grew in wanting to better understand why clients felt that video productions were right for them and whether our videos were sending the right message. This questioning became more imperative once I moved from being a creative individual working for a business to one that owned my own.

 

Once I began to understand my client’s ‘why’, my work became stronger. The messaging was crafted more clearly, the audiences were better understood, and the creative development was more targeted. My approach transcended video and helped to impact social media campaigns, live events, employer branding strategies, corporate culture initiatives, and capital campaigns.

 

Today, I live at the intersection of where strategy meets creative. I am as comfortable sitting at the table with C-suite executives discussing corporate initiatives as I am at debating a font choice or color palette with a graphic designer. In my experience, creative individuals can have a difficult time understanding why they’re creating something for a project. And strategists can have a hard time envisioning how a strategy can be brought to life. Yet, I can (and enjoy!) having a place in both worlds. A world where my left brain works harmoniously with my right brain.

 

As a creative strategist, I bring my expertise to clients and organizations where I can play a role in developing meaningful insights based on sound research then transition into working with creative teams that can produce amazing content that moves audiences.
